The club are delighted to announce another winter signing, this time in the form of Chris Whittock who has made the move after nearly a decade at Berkswell.

Whittock has been a prolific run scorer in his time at Berkswell and has already scored nearly 8,000 runs in Birmingham league competitions a lot of which in a hugely successful 9 year spell at Berkswell in which he played a large part in winning 4 premier league titles.

When asked why he chose to make the change and join the Seth Somers outfit Chris said ‘I’m really excited to be joining a club as ambitious as Halesowen. The club has a clear aim to be in the fight to win the league and I’m hoping to play a part in that.’ On what he hopes to brings to the group he’s joining he said ‘I believe I bring experience having won the league four times previously and hopefully contributing plenty of runs at the top of the order.’

When asked about the signing captain Wes Griffiths said ‘I think it’s another great signing for the club. Chris fits what we are looking for as a club perfectly. Despite the success he’s already had he’s still really ambitious to be successful and it’s fantastic for us and shows how far we’ve come that he’s opted to leave such a successful club in Berksell to join us and that he really believes we can offer him that.’ On what he hopes the new signing will add to the existing group he added ‘on top of being a good character and a top player I think it’s really important that Chris has been there and done it, his experience is something we really hope to draw on throughout the season.’

Chris will now join in the pre season with his new teammates ahead of the season which begins in April and we all wish him well.
