Halesowen CC stand-in Captain Wes Griffiths expressed his disappointment at the teams display at Coventry and North Warwick leading to a 16 point gap opening up between Halesowen and Old Elizabethans placed 4th. Speaking after the game Griffiths commented ‘ we let them get away from us on various occasions in the game having started well we allowed them to build partnerships and once again Jonathon Miles compiled a good 70-odd for them and although 237 was a chaseable score we didn’t really make the inroads needed by building partnerships at key times and only Will Barrett (63*) looked likely to take the game away from them’
Halesowen ended up on 184-8 off 55 overs and picked up 7 points in the process to lie 5th at the half way stage of the season.
